Dix Farms Carnival Squash

Dix Farms brings you the visually striking Carnival squash, a seasonal treasure celebrated for its vibrant marbled skin and sweet, nutty flavor. Grown with care and harvested at peak ripeness, this squash is a cross between the beloved acorn and sweet dumpling varieties, resulting in a compact, round shape with distinctive green, yellow, and cream stripes. Its festive appearance makes it a standout centerpiece for any autumn table, while its firm flesh bakes to a rich, velvety texture that’s ideal for both savory and sweet dishes.

Carnival squash is prized for its versatility in the kitchen. When roasted, its flesh becomes tender and buttery, developing subtle notes of chestnut and brown sugar. Simply halve, scoop out the seeds, and bake with a drizzle of olive oil, or stuff with grains and herbs for a hearty vegetarian main. Its edible skin softens beautifully during cooking, adding both color and nutrition to your meal. The natural sweetness of this squash also lends itself to soups, purees, or even as a rustic addition to salads and grain bowls.

For an elegant serving suggestion, try roasting Carnival squash wedges with a touch of maple syrup and fresh thyme, then pair alongside roasted meats or serve as a vibrant vegetarian side. The Dix Farms Carnival squash brings warmth, color, and comforting flavors to your seasonal menus, making it an essential ingredient for fall feasts and weeknight dinners alike.
