Fresh Puntarelle Chicory by Campo Rosso Farm

Harvested from the fertile soils of Campo Rosso Farm, puntarelle is a celebrated Italian chicory known for its elegant, slender stalks and delicate, frilled centers. This specialty green, prized in Roman cuisine, arrives with a crisp texture and a gentle, pleasantly bitter flavor that enlivens salads and antipasti. Each bundle of puntarelle reflects the farm’s dedication to quality and traditional growing methods, bringing a taste of the Italian countryside to your kitchen.

Puntarelle’s unique structure—firm outer stems encasing tender, curling shoots—makes it a visual and culinary delight. When sliced thin and soaked briefly in ice water, the stalks curl into ribbons, enhancing their refreshing crunch. Traditionally, puntarelle is served raw, dressed simply with anchovy, garlic, and olive oil, but its versatility extends to light sautés or as a vibrant addition to grain bowls and sandwiches. The subtle bitterness of puntarelle pairs beautifully with rich, savory flavors, making it a sophisticated ingredient for home cooks and chefs alike.

For a classic Roman experience, toss puntarelle with a robust anchovy vinaigrette and serve alongside roasted meats or grilled seafood. Its lively flavor and crisp bite make it a standout in any seasonal spread, whether as a salad centerpiece or a fresh accent to your favorite antipasto platter.
