Also known as Salvia Hispanica, chia are the seeds of a flowering plant in the mint family. Chia is richest plant source of Omega 3s - even more than salmon; also full of antioxidants, protein, fiber and calcium. Sprinkle on cereal, oatmeal, fruit bowls, puree in to smoothies, add to cake or cookie batter. They are virtually tasteless and, unlike flax seeds, do not need to be ground in order to obtain their nutrients.
